We're looking for a Technical Writer to join the team in either London or York. This role is an immediate full-time position. If you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and tackle problems that no one else is solving, keep reading. You will be required to go into our London or York offices a minimum of 2 days a week.
Your impact
We’re looking for a Technical Writer who's smart, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and keen to engage with the latest thinking in content development.
The person in this role will quickly understand technical concepts and systems and then write quality copy that follows our style guidelines. You’ll use standard technical writing principles to create clear, unambiguous user documentation in a friendly, conversational style. We need you to write, write, write, and love doing it.
You’ll have a strong interest in content itself — how you write it — how you structure it — and how you deliver it. You’ll be proactive and willing to share your ideas and play an active role in the wider team.
We're also looking for a cultural fit. It’s important that you can work within our values of innovation, accountability, collaboration, transparency, resilience, empathy, authenticity, and a desire to learn.
So, even if you don’t tick all the boxes, if you have a strong interest in creating technical documentation that delivers simplicity in the face of complexity, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Write technical documentation for our software platform. Those solutions might include written documentation, videos, infographics, walkthroughs, or API documentation.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts across our global organization to make sure that your documentation is comprehensive, accurate, and valuable. Attend meetings to gather requirements — ask questions — occasionally, be available to remote teams, across time zones, to gather requirements and feedback.
- Work closely with other members of the technical content team to provide timely delivery of content: we work as a team and help wherever we can.
- Work closely with other members of the technical content team to provide consistent style and tone across all content by reviewing each other’s work.
- Plan and execute content, information requests, and tasks on time, and to the highest standards.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Technical Writing, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least three years experience as a technical writer, preferably in a software environment.
- Fluent in English with a wide vocabulary and strong grammar.
- Comfortable working with complex systems.
Preferred Skills And Technical Familiarity
- Experience working with enterprise business planning or financial data.
- Comfortable with the Agile development process, and basic knowledge of Confluence, JIRA, and GIT.
- Perceptive and empathetic.
- Organized and detail oriented.
