Job Title: Test Equipment Design Engineer, Production Design Support
Salary: Circa £48,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
We have a phenomenal opportunity for an experienced Test Equipment Design Engineer to play a leading role in the support of production activities with Production Design Support (PDS) at our site in Bolton.
You will act as an integral interface between our design teams and our manufacturing teams while working alongside other support engineers to provide knowledge and support.
The role offers the candidate a true engineering challenge in their core discipline(s), whilst providing scope for personal growth and development in other areas.
Working within Production Design Support (PDS) is a highly rewarding role as you not only see designs coming to life in the manufacturing environment but you can help to shape the design of the products and test equipment, delivering support to our customers.
What we're looking for from you:
- Ideally degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience) with experience of designing product/systems and/or providing support to designs through the manufacturing phase of the product lifecycle.
- Excellent verbal communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the capability to write clear and concise engineering documentation.
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, with an awareness of the challenges and opportunities that this may bring. Someone with a passion for innovation and collaboration.
- Experienced engineer who will be prepared to work autonomously if needed, leading the delivery of your work assignments and actively engaging with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of your outputs.
- Solid experience of managing discreet work packages preparing bids, controlling costs and delivering solutions.
- Investigative skills to be able to find Root Causes of design related issues and propose robust corrective actions.
- Full Product Lifecycle knowledge or experience
- Willingness to provide support to and mentor other Engineers and Engineering Technicians.
Proven experience in the design of one or more of the following disciplines:-
- RF and Antenna Design
- Electrical Architecture
- Design for Safety and Integrity
- RF Test and measurement principle knowledge
