Trading Operations Analyst


The Role

Brook Green Supply are an independent B2B energy supply company. You will be working alongside a vastly experienced team who have operated in the energy industry for many years, providing a fantastic career opportunity for an ambitious, flexible and passionate individual, with personal development and progression aligned to the continued growth and success of the business.


As a member of the Trading Desk, you'll play a pivotal role in refining and expanding our reporting capabilities, empowering traders and other areas of the business with actionable insights to optimise trading activities. Joining a dynamic new team within the desk, your contributions will be instrumental in driving our continued growth and ensuring our success in a rapidly evolving Energy market. Furthermore, you'll have a key focus on overseeing our expanding PPA portfolio, providing comprehensive commercial support by liaising with third party industry bodies and clients, as well as taking ownership of monthly invoicing and settlement processes.


Responsibilities

· Facilitate seamless invoicing with our PPA and Route-to-Market counterparts;

· Oversee and manage the credit risk and margining of wholesale counterparts;

· Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of our trade nominations across both power and gas markets;

· Manage client and wholesale trades within our ETRM systems;

· Produce detailed credit line and collateral reporting to provide valuable insights across the business and optimise trading activities;

· Contribute to the training and development of internal team members and other departments;

· Various data entry, validation and administration tasks;


About You

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

· Excellent attention to detail;

· Self-starter who takes the initiative to not just complete tasks but expand upon them;

· Able to work independently or as part of a team;

· A confident and professional individual with a desire to resolve problems;

· Proactive approach to problem solving and idea creation to form solutions;

· A conscientious individual who takes pride in their work;

· Initiative to take on duties or tasks to further your learning and improve business process;

· A fast learner and enthusiastic about learning new subjects and acquiring new skills;

· Able to prioritise and manage your own workload with minimal supervision.


Required Skills & Experience:

· 2-3 years’ experience in the energy sector desirable;

· Experience of the Electricity and/or Gas Industry desirable;

· Organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment;

· Highly numerate with key attention to detail;

· Strong excel skills; knowledge of SQL server, Python and R desirable;

· Working with large data sets.
