Our Area operations Lancs team has a fantastic opportunity for Trainee Jointers to join them in Walkden.
Our Role
As an authorised Cable Jointer, you will work on the ENWL underground electricity distribution network under live and dead conditions. You will participate in repair, maintenance inspection and fault-finding activities commensurate with your authorisation level.
In your first few weeks in this Jointer role, you can expect to:

You will also need to be customer-focused with the ability to communicate clearly and be willing to work outside in all weathers with some anti-social hours. In addition, you should be in possession of a full UK driving licence and be well organised, self-motivated and happy working as part of a team.

Our Role
As an authorised Cable Jointer, you will work on the ENWL underground electricity distribution network under live and dead conditions. You will participate in repair, maintenance inspection and fault-finding activities commensurate with your authorisation level.
In your first few weeks in this Jointer role, you can expect to:
- Work with street furniture faults, replacing single and three-phase service terminations, finding and repairing customer services, restoring supplies to multiple customers including LV operations, and repairing high voltage cables
- Complete Point of Work Risk Assessments, raise permits, and use disc cutters, breakers, hand tools and mini diggers to excavate in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and company codes of practice.
