BrisDoc is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Transactional Accountant to manage the financial records of the organisation. This key role will support the finance team in managing BrisDocs day-to-day financial operations, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately
processed and up to date. By maintaining precise financial records, you will contribute directly to the efficiency and financial health of the organisation, enabling BrisDoc to continue providing excellent healthcare services to our patients.
You will work closely with other team members and departments to support financial operations and deliver quality service to both internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Include
- Recording Transactions: Accurately process all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journals, and expenses.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage invoicing, payments, and collections. Maintain supplier and customer account records.
- VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Payroll Support: Process the monthly payroll journal and adjust cost centre allocations where necessary.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to UK accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
- Support Audit: Assist in the preparation of documentation for the external audit.
- Administrative Duties: Handle other ad hoc financial and administrative tasks as required.

Person Specification
- Proven experience as a transactional accountant or bookkeeper, with a focus on managing day-to-day financial operations.
- AAT Level 3 or equivalent qualifications, or qualified by experience (QBE), demonstrating strong foundational knowledge in accounting.
- Proficiency in Sage 50 and ideally Sage Intacct, alongside advanced Microsoft Excel skills for effective financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong understanding of UK tax regulations and VAT rules, with the ability to apply them in day-to-day accounting tasks.
- Exceptional organisational skills with a meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the accuracy of all financial records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven ability to identify discrepancies in financial records and resolve issues promptly and effectively to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while demonstrating the flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
- Collaborative mindset, working closely with team members, departments, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.
