Stevenage with Hybrid Working

At the IET, making our world a better place starts by creating a better place for our people.

At the IET you’ll have more than just a job. Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter. It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you’ll grow – professionally and personally – in ways you never thought possible.

We’re also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace and embracing hybrid working.

What you'll be doing

As Transformation Programme Manager, you’ll be at the heart of the IET’s organisational change, coordinating and delivering transformation initiatives that align with our strategic objectives.

Working closely with the Executive Team, People Team, and others, including our Portfolio and Product Management (PPM), Technology, and Governance teams, you’ll oversee and manage the transformation roadmap, ensuring progress is visible, interdependencies are handled effectively, and measurable benefits are realised.

As part of this role, a key aspect is fostering and supporting cultural change to embed transformation at every level of the organisation. You’ll bring expertise in navigating complex change environments, ensuring initiatives are not only delivered but are also embraced by the people they impact.

You’ll support the delivery of change initiatives by applying consistent methodologies, tools, and templates, ensuring a cohesive approach to transformation. With responsibility for maintaining records, creating dashboards, and tracking business decisions, you’ll provide stakeholders with the insight needed to make informed choices. Your work will help foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organisation.

In addition, you’ll play a pivotal role in risk management, governance, and resource planning, ensuring that our strategic priorities remain at the forefront of decision-making.

Your ability to engage and influence stakeholders will be essential in driving meaningful, sustainable transformation that supports the IET’s vision and goals.

What we hope you can bring to the role

We’re looking for an experienced programme manager with a proven track record in leading organisational transformation and cultural change initiatives who is well-versed in aligning operational initiatives with strategic objectives, fostering engagement, and embedding change.

You’ll have a strong ability to manage cross-functional teams, engage diverse stakeholders, and maintain focus on delivering impactful outcomes.

You’ll bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and engage effectively with senior leaders, board members, and teams across the organisation. Your organisational skills will enable you to prioritise competing demands, meet deadlines, and manage resources effectively.

Familiarity with governance practices, strategic planning processes, and risk management is essential, along with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. You’ll be adept at identifying opportunities for improvement and driving process enhancements, setting a standard of excellence for others to follow.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an accomplished programme manager to combine leadership and technical expertise to make a real impact.

A Little More About The Role

  • Drive and coordinate the IET’s organisational transformation efforts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Oversee the portfolio of change initiatives, working with the People, PPM, and Technology teams to monitor progress, manage interdependencies, and ensure effective delivery.
  • Support the Executive Team in aligning organisational plans with the IET Strategy, facilitating the adoption of review processes where necessary.
  • Develop dashboards and other tools to provide visibility into progress, risks, and benefits realisation for all transformation initiatives.
  • Coordinate regular meetings to maintain and update the transformation roadmap, addressing resourcing needs and interdependencies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, supporting decision-making, risk management, and process improvements across the organisation.
  • Maintain governance records, including business decision logs, to ensure transparency and alignment with best practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging feedback and refining processes to enhance outcomes.
  • Support strategic planning cycles by compiling documentation and aligning initiatives with financial, technological, and operational priorities.
  • Collaborate with Internal Communications to ensure consistent messaging around the IET Strategy.

A Little More About What We’re Looking For
