Vice President, Platform Product Owner

We are looking for a product owner for our newly built enterprise and client platforms. This role will be based in:
London. The ideal candidate will have significant financial services experience within the banking industry, with a focus on one or more of the following disciplines:
- Data Product - Expertise in data and analytics
- Digital Product - Expertise in digital platforms (web, mobile, etc)
- Technical Product – Expertise in technical platforms
- Financial Product – Expertise in investment banking, lending, payments, etc
- Experience/Service – Expertise in client journeys, channels, services
You Will Have An Impact In Following Ways
- Defining and prioritizing product backlog, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, and working closely with development team to ensure the successful delivery of the product.
- Managing the product backlog and near-term roadmap ensuring that it is properly refined, prioritized and groomed.
- Owning user stories, refinement process and Stakeholder Management (ongoing collaboration and updates)
- Writing specs for minor features and contribute meaningfully to specs for major features.
- Negotiating the implementation of current work, make the right trade-off decisions to launch products in a high-quality manner. Escalating to management as necessary.
- identifying and triaging issues with specific features, whilst understanding how multiple features are interrelated and catch more complex problems.
- Defining proper measurement and instrumentation for a product to analyze results post-release/launch.
- Partnering with manager to make recommendations on the right next steps for the feature.
- Assessing the quality of existing UX to make recommendations on how to improve user experience.

- Bachelor's degree in business management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
- Several years product and financial services experience is required
Product Owner Specific Responsibilities
The role will work in collaboration with Sales/Relationship Management across LOBs, Service Delivery, Regulatory teams, Product/IT Risk, Compliance, Legal, etc. as part of new product development, enhancement, delivery, strategy and planning. The role has a client-focused, strategic approach to develop the business case for firmwide offerings in the marketplace through in-depth analyses on client segments, competitive landscape and industry environment.
The product manager demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of assigned products, the marketplace and client needs to drive product growth/development and maximize profitability across varying stages of their life cycle.
The product manager performs ad-hoc competitive analysis, market research, and regulatory research. Performs technical training, demonstration and develops user guides for clients while also preparing sales materials and training BNY professionals.
Day-to-day Activities Include
- Maintain regular dialogue with Money Market Fund providers
- Effectively communicate market and product updates to the wider team and functional partners
- Manage and contribute to liquidity product marketing and training documentation
- Understand market requirements and contribute to the development strategy for Liquidity Solutions
- Support Sales and Client Service and participate in client meetings to provide SME support
- Work closely with functional partners in Legal, Risk and Compliance to ensure regulations are fully understood and acted upon
