About The Role
The Warehouse Team Leader - Inbound is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the inbound team to ensure efficient and accurate receipt, inspection, and storage of goods. The role involves leading a team, maintaining safety and quality standards, and driving productivity to meet operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Manage and lead the inbound team, including scheduling, task delegation, and performance monitoring.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Inbound Operations Management:
- Oversee the receipt, unloading, and inspection of incoming shipments.
- Ensure goods are accurately checked against purchase orders and delivery documents.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., purchasing, inventory) to resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor storage processes to optimize space utilization and inventory accuracy.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline inbound operations for improved efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of equipment and handling procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards promptly.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Maintain accurate records of inbound activities, including inventory updates and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with management and other teams to address operational needs.
About You
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse and inventory management systems (e.g., WMS).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and other relevant software.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Qualifications And Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain is a plus).
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
- Forklift certification (preferred).
