Description
Enva is seeking a skilled and proactive Skip/Container Welder / Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The primary purpose of this role is to maintain and refurbish our container stock, ensuring that our collections team has a consistent supply of ready-to-use containers for delivery to customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in welding and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
We are ideally looking for someone who can start immediately.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct proactive maintenance and repairs on a variety of waste containers.
- Perform defect rectifications, such as lid and wheel replacements, and repair damaged sections of containers.
- Ensure all welds are sound, clean, and safe for public use.
- Manage and maintain welding equipment and stock of metal materials and consumables.
- Maintain operational container stock to minimise downtime and support the achievement of service levels.
- Assist with other tasks on site as required, within your technical capabilities.
- Adhere to and promote a positive health and safety culture in the workplace, reporting any safety concerns or incidents promptly.
- Ensure the workshop is kept clean, tidy, and safe to use.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential:
- At least 12 months of practical experience as a welder/fabricator.
- MIG Welding qualification.
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices.
- Ability to move and manoeuvre wheeled bins and skips within the workshop.
Desirable:
- Forklift (counterbalance) certification (training and qualification will be provided in-house).
- Overhead crane qualification (training and qualification will be provided in-house).
- Coded welding qualification.
- Experience in welding skip containers or large-scale steel projects.
